The Workers Protection Scheme has been in place for many years for mainland employers and now, it has been introduced for DMCC employers on a mandatory basis.
The scheme involves the registration of the employer, list of employees and a monthly file to be uploaded to the WPS scheme.
The government will then track for any late payment of salaries.
Fines and sanctions apply to late payment.
